Phuket, 2 April 2018 – To celebrate the traditional Thai New Year, or Songkran (Water) Festival, when Thai people splash water on each other in the belief that the water will wash away bad luck for the upcoming year, Amari Phuket invites guests to journey through the culinary delights of the world-famous Thai cuisine, created by the talented chefs at Rim Talay Restaurant on 13 April 2018 from 18:30 to 22:00. Popular dishes from the north to the south of Thailand, including many street dishes and local barbecue favourites, will be presented on the buffet, together with dessert and seasonal fruits. Moreover, guests will experience a truly Thai evening, with wow decoration provided by models representing Thai culture, such as the shadow play or Nang Talung, a public entertainment in the south of Thailand; the King of Nagas, which is the legend of holiness and sanctity of the Kong River in north-eastern Thailand; and the Royal Barge Suphannahong, which is a blend of craftsmanship and traditional Thai art, this model is usually on show only during the most significant cultural and religious events. On this special day, guests will be able to relax at the beachside seating area reserved for this special dining event while enjoying the cool sea breeze and the fantastic views of Patong Bay.

The price for the buffet dinner is 1,190 THB++ per person. Children between 5 and 12 years old will receive a 50% discount and children under 5 years old will be free of charge.
