Sai Kaew Beach is the last breath of Phuket before the bridge to the mainland. A narrow fringe of soft golden sand meets a line of towering casuarina trees, creating a natural wall between land and sea. There are no hotels. No music. No rows of umbrellas. Just wind through pine needles, the sound of slow waves, and the occasional clink of a local fisherman’s icebox. This is Phuket without the noise.
Location: Northern tip of Phuket, just south of Sarasin Bridge
Access: Direct access from Route 402 with shaded parking by the beach
Swimming: Good in high season, flat waters. Avoid monsoon season due to currents
Food/Facilities: Local food carts and a few bamboo huts with seating
Shade: Ample natural shade from pine trees
Best For: Solitude seekers, quiet couples, photography lovers, camper vans
Best Time to Visit: Mornings for swimming, late afternoons for golden light
Dogs Allowed: Yes (unofficially, common to see locals with dogs)
From Phuket Town, head north on Thepkasattri Road (Route 402) for about 45–50 minutes. Sai Kaew is the last beach on the island, located just before the Sarasin Bridge. Turn left into the forested roadside pull-off where food carts and shaded parking are visible. No entrance fee, and no official signage—just follow the locals.

The name Sai Kaew means “crystal sand,” referring to the soft and bright quality of the beach's grains. Historically, this area was a fishing rest stop before the bridge was built, and locals still gather here for beachside barbecues and family days—especially during public holidays.
Sai Kaew is not for everyone. There are no cocktails here, no jetskis, no souvenir shops. But if you're the kind of person who brings a book, seeks pine-scented air, and values a horizon without hotels, this beach may be your favourite place on the island. It’s where Phuket disappears—not in distance, but in silence.
