Phuket Beach Guide: Nai Yang Beach – Laid-Back Local Energy by the Airport
Nai Yang Beach sits on Phuket’s northwest coast, directly next to the southern edge of Sirinat National Park. Unlike nearby Mai Khao Beach, Nai Yang is more social and food-focused, with local restaurants, massage stalls, and plenty of shaded picnic spots under tall casuarina trees.
The beach itself is wide and gently sloping, ideal for families. During high season, the water is calm and clear. At low tide, broad sand flats appear, offering long wading areas that kids especially enjoy.
While Nai Yang isn’t as busy as Patong, it’s far from empty — especially on weekends when Thai families and expats gather for picnics and sunset drinks.
📍 Location: Northwest Phuket, next to Phuket International Airport
🚗 Access: Direct road access via Nai Yang Road, easy parking

🕒 Best Time to Visit: Late morning for swimming, sunset for local vibe
🐕 Dogs Allowed: Commonly seen

Historical Note:
The area around Nai Yang has been a traditional fishing and gathering spot for local communities since long before Phuket’s tourism boom. It also plays a role in turtle conservation efforts as part of Sirinat National Park, established in 1981.
Nai Yang Beach is where Phuket slows down — not in silence, but in rhythm. It’s a place where families, both local and international, mix easily under the trees. No loud clubs. No hard sell. Just food, shade, and one of the island’s most comfortable, relaxed beach scenes.
Come for an hour or spend the day. Either way, Nai Yang always feels real.
