Punyisa Home is the newest surprise from Mary Pakamard. In Mary’s characteristic style of keeping people guessing about what is coming next, she has quietly opened Punyisa Home with no fanfare or pomp. The building has slowly taken shape over the last twelve months, with the island wondering what she was planning.

Like many of Mary’s projects, the idea for Punyisa Home was born from a frustration she faced as an interior architect and designer. The simple task of finding an ottoman to fit perfectly within the master bedroom, or a brightly coloured work desk for a children’s room, always seemed out of reach – overly complicated and prohibitively expensive.

The solution? Open her own furniture factory and upholstery workshop, of course.

Punyisa Home is the culmination – and, if you like, the cherry on top – of Mary Pakamard’s success on the island. The ultimate goal for a design and architectural studio is naturally to be able to create any artwork, furnishing, or design element that the client and designer wish for. And that is exactly the vision and mission of Punyisa Home.

Custom-designed soft furnishings that fit perfectly within a bespoke home. Dining tables made to order from reclaimed timber or imported stone, built to the exact dimensions required for that huge open-plan kitchen and dining room. Fabric choices, timber selections, foam densities, and material finishes – the possibilities go on and on.

The entire concept of Punyisa Home revolves around unique furnishings and designs created to fit and complement the individual tastes and styles of Phuket’s high-end residential market.

Mary recognises that the island is brimming with creative architects and designers, building beautiful homes and extraordinary villas in some truly magical locations. From jungle hillsides to sweeping ocean views, Phuket has become a place where imagination and architecture come together to create remarkable living spaces.

Punyisa Home was created to complement Phuket’s spirit of creativity – a place where furnishings, upholstery and artwork can be developed to suit the individual character of luxury homes. Architects and designers working across the island are welcome to collaborate with the team, using Punyisa Home as a place where ideas can move from concept to sketch and from sketch to finished piece.

Mary’s travels are also a continual source of inspiration for her work – and Punyisa Home reflects this as well. Handmade carpets from a sole trader in Central Asia, antique prints from a tiny shop in Istanbul and hand-woven fabrics from recent trips to Bhutan and Nepal. These objects, gathered through travel and curiosity, bring layers of history, craftsmanship and culture into the spaces she designs.

For Mary Pakamard, Punyisa Home is not a furniture shop. It is a natural extension of the creative world she has spent two decades building – a world shaped by architecture, interiors, materials and the belief that every home should reflect the personality of the people who live within it. Here, ideas that begin as sketches or conversations can evolve into tangible pieces, carefully considered to suit the unique character of each space.

And, perhaps most importantly, it ensures that when a client asks for something unique, the answer will no longer be, “We’ll try to find it.” The answer will simply be: “We’ll make it.”
