With a prime lakeside location in the popular Boat Avenue complex in Cherngtalay, CUT Grill & Lounge is a chic, open-air restaurant featuring organic, farm-raised meats, an array of tapas-style appetizers, lush desserts, signature cocktails and a lengthy wine list.

Standout menu items include the Mille Stelle Burrata with sun-dried tomatoes, almond pesto and black olives tapenade. The burrata is rich and creamy, while the pesto and tapenade add subtle zest. Light and fresh, this is truly a perfect appetizer to start off the evening.

Next up is the Truffle Risotto, featuring black truffle. Simple and tasty, the risotto is served with fresh parmesan cheese, which gives it a salty kick. The overall salty and nutty flavour combination of the dish is simply delicious. The risotto is filling enough as a stand-alone dish to consider it a meal.

My dining partner chose to feast on a 200 days grain-fed Australian Tenderloin Angus. Served medium well, the steak was grilled to perfection. In addition to being impeccably seasoned, the tender cuts of meat melted like butter on the tongue. Served with Truffle Mashed Potatoes and grilled garlic, the tenderloin is a fantastic meal.

Dessert at CUT Grill & Lounge is, as you would expect, a delightful affair. The Sticky Toffee Cookie is a deconstructed gooey, delicious mess of a half-baked cookie on top of Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream and then smothered in salted butter caramel. This is a standout item on the dessert menu and worth every single calorie.

Other desserts included the CUT Tiramisu and the Phuket Coconut Crème Brûlée. The tiramisu features bold, espresso flavours while the coconut crème brûlée offers up fresh coconut tastes blended in a traditional crème brûlée.

The entire dining experience at CUT Grill & Lounge is excellent. Not only is the restaurant gorgeous with its lakeside views and chic, open air interior, but the delicious food is complemented by stellar service. The waiting staff are well spoken and completely engaging, eager to recommend menu items, top up drinks and change plate settings efficiently without being intrusive.

The great setting, delicious food and wonderful service really do make CUT Grill & Lounge a cut above the rest.
